What is a Store Locator?

A store locator is a customised spatial system that allows a visitor to your corporate website to locate the stores that suits the visitor's location and service requirements.  It presents a mini website located on the SISS21 mapping system for each outlet.  Store Locators are centrally managed by you.  Store Locator Find Page is accessed from your website.  It is presented in your branding and corporate colours as an extension of your website.  The Store Locator makes it easy for visitors to find information on the store or stores that are the most convenient; enriching the user experience for customers and providing very good exposure for your brand and your stores.

Store Locators are suitable to chains and franchises that have over 20 stores or branches within Australia

FindEngine Store Locators are spatially searchable.  This means that a user of the system can select search parameters that are important to the users.  For example a user that is a builder can search for plumbing supplies by specifying his building site and searching within a distance he prescribes.   He may wish to find a supplier that is on route from the office to the site.  A purely spatial search facility allows a user to do this with ease.

Your Store Locator database is hosted and maintained as part of the FindEngine system, so it is backed up daily and maintained to a high level of reliability.

Discovery of Store Locators through Dedicated Links on the Chain's Website.

The FindEngine Spatial Directory System can provide dedicated predefined search of outlets.  This means that a visitor to your  website can find the  stores in the area relevant to the user by clicking a link on the corporate website.

You  may establish multiple links to the search system for discovery of various store types if stores provide different products or services so that only the stores that provide a particular product or service required by the user are presented.

Exposure of Stores on FindEngine system

Because the store locators are websites on the FindEngine system the stores are discoverable  when a user that has come to the FindEngine system other than your website does a search that matches the stores' key words.  For example, if Joe's Plumbing Supplies has store locators and a user searches on the  FindEngine Directory for plumbing supplies, Joe's Plumbing Supplies store profiles will appear in the FindEngine results list and map along with other plumbing supplies outlets in the area searched.

The capacity for the inclusion of a large number of keywords that comprehensively represents your products and services dramatically increases the potential for discovery by potential customers.

Of course, a visitor to a Store Locator will only be presented with the stores owned by the owner of the Store Locator.

Geographic Search Parameters

You can select from a  range of  search parameters to be used on your locator:

"        Radial search - enter the address (or spike the point) the user wishes to search from and the radius of the search

"        Free Range search - use the interactive mapping system to define the search area

"        Locality search - enter the street, suburb, postcode or State the user  wishes to search in

The search options available to visitors can be customised to reflect franchise arrangements.

Presentation of Search Results

Your customers are presented with a map with dots showing your stores.

The Store Locator page also presents a results list of the names of the stores. Your customer can highlight a store name in the list to light up the dot on the map to indicate the location of that store.  Passing the cursor over a dot on the map brings up an information box containing the name, address and phone number of the store.

What We Need From You

The details of each outlet are automatically uploaded onto the directory database from a spreadsheet format supplied by us, so your Store Locator is working for you as soon as we receive the order and information you want included.

Special attention should be paid to key words to ensure maximum discovery of your stores in conventional searches not originating from your website. It is important that key words you supply include brand names - and should include reasonable misspellings of Brand names.   You can even specify UNSPSC codes for your products and services.

Your FindTasmania representative is available to provide guidance in this process if required.

The system provides a username and password for you to obtain access to the system so you can add or remove stores and keywords as you require in real time.

Costing

The price per listing varies with the number of stores and your individual requirements.  The quoted cost includes hosting.  A firm quotation will be provided when we have established your requirements.
